Networking on the National Level

Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Eine-Welt-Landesnetzwerke (AGL)

Across Germany the regional networks work together in the "Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Eine-Welt-Landesnetzwerke" (AGL), the consortium of One-World- regional networks. AGL supports the activities of the individual regional networks, particularly regarding the content as well as organisational tasks, and it organises regularly a nationwide interexchange. AGL also represents the interests of the regional networks at federal level. A BER representative serves on its executive commitee. In addition, AGL is a member of the Verband Entwicklungspolitik Deutscher Nichtregierungsorganisationen (VENRO), the federal alliance of German NGOs for foreign development.

Regional Networks

In all of the 16 German states, more than 2.000 One-World-Initiatives have joined together under the umbrella of the respective federal networks. The member organisations are mostly small non-governmental organisations, groups, clubs, local initiatives, networks, fair-trade shops and regional groups belonging to larger NGOs. The federal networks link regional activities and represent the shared positions vis-a-vis politics, administration, public authorities, the business community, the church and other societal groups.
